Re: how to get Opera and IE to think i'm on a desktop pc
Are there spaces in the custom user agent thing?
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT) It's not working for my mobile banking. |

I made these changes... and they stick... but Google still comes up with the massive text and the option to switch from MOBILE to CLASSIC.
And on the Sprint Powerdeck page it says Unknown Device... used to say Touch Pro... so now I'm wondering if I'll get the appropriate updates when I select to check for updates. |

Re: how to get Opera and IE to think i'm on a desktop pc
I found that I can leave the "Spoof User Agent" set to the default of 1 and just delete the "Custom User Agent" string. When I do this Opera sends a User Agent of "Opera/9.5 (Microsoft Windows; PPC; Opera Mobi/2649; U; en)" and this works properly. I am not redirected to mobile versions of websites.

Re: how to get Opera and IE to think i'm on a desktop pc
i made the change under the correct setting... am i supposed to put quotes around the entry? and is google.com still supposed to come up as mobile with the option to switch even after the edit is applied?
also, how come some posts say to change it to Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 6.0; en)... the post on here doesn't include the "6.0; en" after windows nt.

Does anyone know the original custom user agent settings? I put back the ones mentioned and now my powerdeck says touch diamond and it was saying touch pro before.

Re: how to get Opera and IE to think i'm on a desktop pc
Maybe a dumb question but here goes..is there any way to do this by a registry edit? If so, then would it not be possible for someone (not me cause I am clueless) to create two cab files with the edits, one to switch to allow for full web page view and another to switch back in order to allow the Sprint powerdeck site to recognize the device, thus allowing to check for updates? I do like the full pages but I would also like the ability to check for updates, so I thought I would ask.
