I can't say for USB, but I have had NO problems tethering with wi-fi. Check out post #7 here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=46702 for directions and the free cab.

Re: ICS Tethering registry hacks for the Sprint Touch Pro

I'm having the same problem with USB tethering that others have reported, though BT tethering and WMwifirouter .91 works fine. It appears that during USB tethering, the PC does not pull a valid IP, gateway and DNS. It sets the 169.x.x.x address that means it can't get one.
I've been perusing the registry and looking at HKLM/comm/Tcip/Parms/IpEnableRouter which is set to 0. Should it be set to 1 to enable my PC to pull a valid address?

EDIT: well, I tried changing it to 1, but to no avail. The PC still pulls a 169.254 address on the usb connection and there is no internet access. So I changed it back to 0. I would rather USB tether for power consumption reasons, the TP gets pretty warm using wmwifirouter and after a while, won't charge when connected to power. BT is slow, and my laptop is having BT issues right now.
If anyone has solved this particular problem, I'd like to hear how you did it. I've already installed the tethering cab, and BT when it works, works fine. (yet another phone call to fabulous Dell tech support, oh boy)
I should add that I'm using Windows 7 RC on the laptop which is much nicer than vista, I recommend it.

I have been tethering using the ICS hack and usb cord since late November when I got the phone. I do about 16 - 30 gb a month without a single overage charge or complaint from Sprint. My sig has the speed I got when I checked it last.

Re: ICS Tethering registry hacks for the Sprint Touch Pro

I can wmodem with USB (cause it switches my phone into a recognizable standard modem for the PC) - but try as I might, I cannot tether via USB with ICS. Bluetooth, on the other hand, works fine!

Telus, Touch Pro, WM6.1, W7 on laptop

Re: ICS Tethering registry hacks for the Sprint Touch Pro

I used the Cab to install the internet mod and now my TP will not conect at all. I can't even turn the data conection off under setting and I keep getting error message DIALED #777. I also tried install the Cab that that return the mod to stock again and it still didn't work.
