Laggy Messenging Program
 

I've noticed my messaging in touchflo is really slow and even just going to it from the start menu is really slow as well. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm thinking this may have to do with using PPCPimBackup to restore everything I've had from my mogul and apache.

Considering doing a hard reset to just add my contacts and whatnot back on..

Any thoughts on how to make this faster?

Have you soft reset your phone after running PIMBackup? It will lag the device until you do.

unfortunately, i've soft reset a couple of times already.. it's funny because everything runs just fine.. it's just the messages..

Are you talking about messages as in SMS text composition?

I'm suffering from moderate-medium lag with hardware keyboard entry in the text field with threaded sms. Everything else works fine and there isn't lag, but texting is slow, with the characters showing up a good 10 or 12 seconds after I've pressed them after I really get going.

I searched around and found some stuff on the xda-devs site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=428144&page=3

But turning wifi power management settings to all three positions doesn't help, and I don't have wifi enabled. It just seems slow. I disabled T9 per all the instructions, but I know it is still learning my words. Fn-space brings up the T9 menu.

Going into SMS is slow for me and it takes forever if at all for the messages to pop up in touch flo, or to open messaging, and even takes a while to go into the message.. not sure why..

Strange. Have you cleared everything? I used to have some problems like that with my Mogul and it just required clearing it now and then.

The issue I'm having is with laggy composition using the hardware keyboard in the threaded sms program, not so much display of messages themselves.

I really don't want to, but I guess I have no choice right now.. shame as I like to hoard all my messages.
