Do you think there will be an official update to windows mobile 7

We are all waiting for the touch pro but my main concern is will it be able to run windows mobile 7. we are still going to be using a some what old os that needs a huge makeover, im sure microsoft will deliver with that but will the pro/diamond get it.

Even the Apache has gotten 6.1, and the hardware should be able to run WM7 just fine, I'd think.

tis true, if the apache can run win mo 6.1, I am quite sure the Diamond and Pro will run 7. I just bet there's going to be a lot of even nicer devices and all for it by that time.

Hmm, whether or not it will be official remains to be seen, but I'm sure we will get it.

Maybe I'm a bit pessimistic but with microsoft's history. WM7 will require 1g of ram minimum. I'm over-exaggerating a bit but system requirements are known to spike on their newer releases.

We will not know how good the TP is until it is releases. I know that the mogul has a faster cpu than the apache but I've heard that it is slower. The Touch Pro does have a rediculous about of ram though.

I have looked into WM7 and in all seriousness I do not want it. It is an iPhone trying way too hard. As such, all I need is a phone that can run WM6.1 ungodly well, which this phone does.

How do you know that the TP will run 6.1 ungodly well? I haven't heard such statements from the gsm users. As I said in my earlier post, we will only know after it is released.

It depends on when its released if they will provide an update. Sprint & HTC provided 1 major upgrade and one minor for the Mogul. First they offered the upgrade from WM5 to WM6. Next they offered the upgrade to WM 6.1.

Regardless if they offer an update to WM7, someone will port it over to the Touch Pro in all liklihood just like someone ported WM6 and WM6.1 over to the Apache.

With the specs of the Touch Pro, it will run WM6.1 pretty well. I base this off my lower specs Mogul as it runs WM 6.1 pretty well. Its hard to say how it would run WM7.

I'll put it this way, it would be stupid of microsoft to make an updated OS that wont be compatible with current phones, because people will not accept it. (Don't give me the XP and Vista talk :P )

But anyways, I'm sure the WinMo7 will be cracked down by XDA-Developers, making it work on the Diamond and Pro, you can count on it! Other then that, if Apache was able to go from 5 to 6.1, I'm sure the newer devices can go from 6.1 to 7. I mean the new phones are now above the minimum requirements so that they deliver.

Also, isn't there talks of a WinMo 6.2?
