Re: Somethings wrong with my car help!!!
My Mogul has been the biggest piece of **** ever. I've been through at least 3 of them, all the failures weren't due to my neglect, and Sprint didn't have anything to give me as replacement this last time, so of course I'm going to complain. I'm not taking a loss in my investment with a Touch, and my Mogul isn't usable at all (locks up within 5 minutes on a fresh flash/hard reset). So personally, I feel I was totally in my bounds to complain, and I don't feel like I am ripping off Sprint with them giving me my $125 Touch Pro.
Also, your analogy is horrible. It's like having a Ford Focus that died requiring total overhaul several times, and wanting them to give you an 09 Ford Focus. The focus/mustang analogy you gave is more like having some cheap flip phone and *****ing because they won't give you a Touch Pro.

Re: Somethings wrong with my car help!!!
I'm glad someone said it, and with an awesome faux back-story, too. Two months between fill-ups, though? Someone has a little too much faith. Boy, I'd hate to see the look on your face when you realize that the oil needs changing as well.
I agree with you in that people shouldn't try to BS their way into getting a new phone, but if you can, why not? It would be through Sprint's own stupidity that they give a customer a new phone in exchange for their old one. However, I really don't think it actually works out as often as we think. We hear a few stories (some of which I can't help but question their validity) and then we hear of 50 people who are going to try it. I doubt many of those who made the attempt actually got it. I think the more likely occurrence is when people get it for the subsidized price. I may even try this myself. I will offer to extend my contract early to get it for $300 versus $550. If they agree to that, why not? I save $150, they get to keep my heart and soul for at least 2 more years. I wouldn't try to go lower than that though as my Mogul has indeed served me well and I didn't even get the phone through Sprint (yay, eBay!), so $300 would be a fairly good deal.

Re: Somethings wrong with my car help!!!
I have to say that was a good story! The Mogul was a great phone and when new technology comes out, we all want what is new. I don't have a sad story, I am just buying one.

Re: Somethings wrong with my car help!!!
This story makes no sense whatsoever. People getting TPs for Moguls aren't using their Mogul's incorrectly, thus making it inoperable (like the story of not using gas). Some people have legit beef with their Mogul. The Mogul as it is VS the Mogul as they say it should work are worlds apart.
I think of it like this. If Ford said the Focus got 30 mpg and then it continually got 15 mpg, and you were given replacement Focus after replacement Focus and they all only got 15 mpg, that would be the Mogul. Then when Ford would release a new model that REPLACED the Focus and the replacement did what it said, that would be the TP. A Focus for the new REPLACEMENT model would be fair. The reason the Focus VS Mustang scenario is off the wall is they are OBVIOUSLY in different price classes. As an EVP member, the prerelease price of the TP and the current price of the Mogul are THE SAME. /end rant Last edited by kidmet; 10-16-2008 at 05:11 PM. |

Re: Somethings wrong with my car help!!!
You fail to comprehend our reasoning and then ridicule us? Nice.
We didn't buy a Mogul, fully aware of its limitations and requirements, and then decide to scam Sprint to get the new one. Most, if not all of us, have legitimate problems with our Moguls that are contrary to how the phone was advertised, making it impossible for us to know about them before buying it, especially when we purchased at launch. As for using insurance, Sprint only replaces your phone with a refurbished model of the same phone via insurance. That's fine if the phone were merely malfunctioning, but our complaints are DESIGN FLAWS. They are inherent in ALL Moguls, and a replacement Mogul wouldn't resolve the problem. And since there's been no comparable alternative during the lifespan of the phone, we couldn't talk them into replacing it with something else. Deep down YOU know the Mogul sucks, and is a shadow of what it was supposed to be. No custom ROM has ever made the phone run as well as it was expected to. But go ahead, bash us for our legitimate problems and efforts to get Sprint to resolve a problem created by a phone they released with known flaws and missing functions that they didn't resolve. Have fun. Last edited by TurboFool; 10-16-2008 at 05:19 PM. |
