Re: New Engaget pics/info
I actually agree with his statement somewhat. Even though I only would get the Touch Pro for the qwerty keyboard, I would definitely get annoyed with a removable keyboard. With new technologies advancing the way that they are, I wouldn't be surprised to see an ultra thin qwerty phone developed. They've made memory cards so small that it's conceivable for this to happen before we know it.

I also believe that the keyboard could be smaller but probably at the cost of durability. The next technological advancement should be in batteries. It would transform portable devices as a whole. |

Re: New Engaget pics/info
I don't see the cell battery getting any smaller any time soon.
The technology is literally crawling right now. And at the prices Li-ion batteries are now? Can you imagine how expensive they would be? oh brother! But I totally agree with the keyboard thing. It potentially could be thinner, but at the cost of durability. That's alright though. I mean think of all the features this thing has. It's tough to get all that into such a small shell, right? I'll take a bigger phone any day over a half-featured "slim" phone. I've been a nextel customer since day 1, so I'm used to Rugged Tank like Mil. Spec. phones. This thing IS slim compared to them, I'm afraid I might cut myself on it. |

The Touch's lack of WiFi is the only thing that kept me on my Mogul. With that element taken out of the question, my choice gets a lot harder for my next gen device. I do like the hardware keyboard, but I'm not sure it is worth the extra thickness for me. I'd also miss expandable memory, but again, it might not be a deal breaker. I'm not sure which way I'll go. I'm not jumping ship from my Mogul right away though. I'll wait for final specs on CDMA versions, and see what kind of developments come along the way. |
