New Rom Old Rom Question..
 

So my old TP broke and I received a replacement by asurion. The New Phone however was not and still is not delivering my Tex messages right away but holding on to them and delivers like 4 of them at the same time a hr later. I took it to the sprint store and they said the software (“Hermann_C_SPRINT_WWE_1.03.651.4_ RS1.03.15F_SPCS_ 1 .53_0909_PRL60613_Ship.exe.zip”) that was in the stocked sprint rom section here was all messed up and they had erase everything and reinstall the (rom) software. The new rom they installed is ROM version 1.03.651.4, radio ver 1.03.15F, PRL 60671, PRI 1.53_003 but I went to HTC web site and saw they have a newer ROM version 2.01.651.6. I downloaded the version 2.01.651.1 from HTC.

I have Two questions....

The HTC new rom is a RUU file can i put that away and keep it as my personal sprint "Stock" Rom and is this even a stock Rom or some kind of update?

Is the HTC version of this ROM the type that locks your phone back after you flash it (had a crazy time figuring out the relocker thing..lol) and will I need the HRD SPL to unlock


Im thinkin i should just call asurion start fresh and get them to send me a replacemnt for the replacement.

Yes the one on the HTC website is a full rom, not an upgrade.

As far as rom installation and it relocking it, I'm not sure.


I am not trying to be a smart a** but seeing as nobody has responded to your questions, why don't you just flash it and see what happens. The worst that can happen is that you have a locked, bone stock rom Sprint TP.

Oh, it was more a question whether it's a stock sprint rom or not because according to the Tec at sprint the rom (“Hermann_C_SPRINT_WWE_1.03.651.4_ RS1.03.15F_SPCS_ 1 .53_0909_PRL60613_Ship.exe.zip”) was bad. I wanted to keep the HTC rom incase I have to return the phone after i start flashing....

Yup it's stock Sprint. Just make sure you download the appropriate rom from the drag down menu on the HTC website. Touch Pro (Sprint).

If you got a replacement device it will be locked so the only type of rom you can flash is a shipped rom. That is, unless you run the hspl unlocker then you can flash a custom rom.
