Cell not booting .. Want to flash rom

Dear All,

I am from India and new to this thread . And i am new to HTC device.
I am a software engineer and working on multimedia embedded devices (linux platform). And i am aware of basic terms like kernel, flashing firmware etc


HISTORY

My brother has brot hiz old HTC touch pro CDMA(Sprint) from US.
He has bought Samsung Captivate(AT&T) and he handed over hez old HTC to me .
But i was not able to power on the phone cause the battery is blown up
But when i connect the cellphone to my PC using mini usb cable, the mobile screen shows some display in white screen for less than a second which reads

" Loading
No Image File !
"

and it will immediately changes to other screen which reads

"

And the screen will be stuck over there.

So My quetions are:

1] Which PC SUITE i have to install in my PC to connect my HTC ? is there any pc software to manage htc devices?

2] What does above message means ? and if ROM image has corrupted is there any way to reflash the ROM image ?

3] The cell has 1GB micro SD card. Is it possible to put android image to SD card and directly boot to android without booting to windows ?

Please guide me to bring up this HTC device .. I am using Windows 7 at home.
Later i am planing to boot same device with Android also. I have already read android thread in this forum .

what you saw is called the bootloader screen. the phone is already unlocked, and that is the screen you need to be on when flashing a new ROM to the phone. you will definitely need to get a new battery, seeing as how the phone will NOT work at all without one, not even on AC power. yes it is possible to boot android from the sd card. you cannot boot directly to android, there is a "dual boot" called gen.y just search for it. you must use windows mobile device center on windows 7.

Are you sure it is unlocked ?
Cause in other thread "Yay" told it is still locked. (please refer below link)
I was able to boot my device without flashing any ROM. And also i am able to boot Android from sd card

It is not unlocked until it says cmonex next to the spl. Here is a little snippet from the original unlocker thread.

7) to confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (tricolour screen!) and verify the screen shows 0.35.CMONEX or 0.37.CMONEX (or 0.25.CMONEX MFG).



Your screen should look like this if it is unlocked.

oh, my apologies. i thought the only way you could get onto the bootloader screen was if it is unlocked

I have unlocked my phone now .. i am thiking of putting NRG ROM .. but there were lots of links in that thread.. can some one point me direct link to download the most stable ROM
