TP and VZ...I'm starting to like this little phone more and more.

I have the option to upgrade my phone and the more I look around, the more I like my little out-dated washed-up TP.

Droid lacks a couple of things that I really love on my TP.

-Sync with Outlook
-Act as a Wi-Fi Router

I heard there is a work around on the Outlook thing, but Outlook is my life. Contacts, schedule, Notes, and tasks.

And the Wi-fi Router things is great for my iPOD, DS, laptop (in a pinch), etc...and now VZ is charging $20/mo when used on a Droid device (and Windows 7 as well...confirmed with VZ today 9/20).

If the phone was just a little faster, and was able to play .MOV files...I don't think I would upgrade.

Oh well, off to do more research and get depressed.

Well to my knowledge Android can sync with Outlook... Using Exchange. Are you not using Exchange...? I use GMail so the integration is seamless on WinMo and Android, I don't even want to look at Outlook if I can help it

Also, if you have a rooted device you can use the wifi router w/o VZW knowing - to my knowledge. Much in the same way that you've done so on your WinMo phone... VZW probably doesn't want you to use your phone as a wifi router, and since the TP never 'officially' supported the feature, you can fly under the radar.

No, I don't use exchange. My primary account is Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! doesn't support exchange servers.

I guess just another example to dump old technology, i.e. Yahoo! and Windows.

Windows...I am a long time user and supporter...I think it's time for a trial seperation.

Yes dump Yahoo. With GMail, all of my stuff sync's - on WinMo and Android... I'm also flashing a lot lately with the Android NAND testing, so using Google Sync is essential for me!

I stick with Widnows Live Mail, that way my mail follows me to all my winmo devices!

HTC sync syncs with outlook.....or you can export your contacts to a csv then import to gmail. Then you never have to worry about contacts ever again
