screen problem

Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get some help here. this is my screen

before touching the screen: http://lh6.ggpht.com/_Maa9gNQ3DXU/TE...-35-37.022.jpg

After touching the screen (the screen just dims if you press it lightly, and the harder you press it, the worse it gets): http://lh5.ggpht.com/_Maa9gNQ3DXU/TE...-36-23.272.jpg

So I was wondering if this is a problem with the digitizer, the lcd, or both. what do you think?

It looks like a video problem. You may have to try a hard reset.

I've hard reseted a ton of times and it doesn't fix it. the problem only arises when I touch the screen.

I hope you have insurance. It may be a problem with the digitizer.

nope, didn't get insurance haha. doesn't the digitizer only detect where you touch the screen? cuz my phone detects touches anywhere on the screen.

If you're handy, you may find a replacement digitizer on Ebay. I have one, but it's for the Verizon Touch Pro.
I guess you will have to take it some where to get it fixed.

I'm not convinced it's the digitizer. Has anyone had a similar problem that was fixed by replacing the digitizer? To me, it looks like it's working. It's just showing the wrong information. I am wondering if it's actually on the board, and the digitizer is working just fine. I guess I'm afraid you may go out and buy a digitizer just to find out it doesn't fix the problem, and be out $50. Although it may be worth the risk.

Have you tried going back to stock ROM? Also, have you had the phone for less than a year? Maybe it's under warranty.

It pays to open it, check/reseat all connections and try again.

Just take it to a Sprint Retail store with a repair center. I damaged mine (no insurance) and it was $50 for the total repair (they used salvaged parts from a toasted unit)
