Ques: Upgrading Sprint Touch Pro to WM 6.5

I have a Sprint Touch Pro Running WM 6.1 and would like to upgrade to WM 6.5 I know there are a number of ROM versions out there.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if using the WM 6.5 Touch Pro 2 software update that Sprint and HTC have available will work on the first Touch Pro?

i'd be curious to try it but don't want to brick my phone. does anyone have any helpful suggestions on this or on how to best upgrade? thanks.

no.

best bet to upgrade is to find a rom in our tp upgrades section and stick with what works. if you try flashing something else, it will most likely result in a brick.

the tp2, while the hardware is similar, it is different and their roms will not work on our devices.

thanks!
aww that sucks...
but it makes sense.

so i guess the next best thing would be one of the ROM versions out there or better yet, an Android dual boot on the device (hoping there is a stable, fully functional one).

yes.

energyrom is a very popular one. i have had issues with it myself but alot of people love it.

i use the nfsfan rom. runs 6.5 on sense 2.5 and has great battery for me and is very stable.

for android look for gen.y dualboot and that'll get the dual boot going for you. there is no true dualboot as we need winmo for a few things in android still. feel free to check out the android thread.

I use energy with winmo 6.5 and sense 2.5

I can use my phone moderatly throughout the day and still have 65% of the battery left. This is while checking email and texting, mild websurfing on breaks and stuff. All in how you set it up.
