Does the Touch Pro really have 288 mb RAM? I don't see it

I have the Sprint Touch Pro and it only shows 192 mb RAM, shouldn't it be around 256 in the memory page if the touch pro has 288 mb RAM, beause the mogul had 64 mb ram, pitiful, but it showed 47, almost a 1/3 of the RAM is missing on the touch pro, where is it??? ](*,)

Do you have a RAPH500 or 800? Check under the battery. The 800 has 288, the 500 has 192... however you did say it's a Sprint TP, which would be the 800...

Perhaps there's a bank of memory that isn't avail to WinMo? That doesn't make much sense to me, but I know in the Android project they did have to enable a 'second bank' of RAM which helped dramatically with speed/responsiveness in Android.

Yep, I have the 800, you probably have the same issue, along with everyone else, it shows 288 in the installed memory in about phone, but the RAM available
is only 192 mb, in the memory free tab, and I usually have 50 mb free, but easily use it up as I open programs!! Is there a ROM that will unlock all 288 mb RAM?
There should be one

The OS uses memory which is taking it to 192. Then if you are using Manila, that takes a crap load. Go to Settings->System->Device Information and look at the hardware tab to see details.

It Shows 288mb RAM, I am running the TankROM, but I would switch to a ROM that actually is able to use the 288 mb ram

I know it shows 288mb but it also shows how much RAM the OS is using. Then it shows how much total program memory you have (192mb), then how much of that is being used.

For example, my ROM (swinnROM) is reporting this for my phone which has been running for about a week with pagepool of 0:
RAM Size: 288MB
OS Program Memory: 71.80MB
Program Memory: 216.20MB
Used: 113.95MB
Free: 102.25MB

288 - 71.80 = 216.20 - 113.95 = 102.25 free

Ok, but if 71 mb is used for the os program memory, then you should still have 216 mb left, how it is 102?

113MB is used by services, titanium, the phone and other things running.
