Disable WM6.1 typing popup bar

Does anyone know in WM6.1 how to disable the black bar that appears when I type in any program? I already disabled the auto-correcting it was doing, but the bar still appears for every word I type, and only goes away if I press SPACE or enter. It drives me nuts, I can't figure out the proper term for it, and I don't have it on all ROMS I've tried.

For example, I open IE, goto Google, begin to type in the search field, and then the bar appears. It won't actually paste the text into the search field unless I press space or enter

Verizon TP using ERice's stripped down Sprint based ROM.

Ok, found the fix. The hardest part was trying to figure out what that horrible feature was called. Thanks!
