Touch Pro internet usage

Hey everyone I just got my touch pro today. I love the many features on it.

I have a question though before I connect it to verizon. Does this phone just automatically connect to the internet or does it give a warning or something when a program tries to connect? I don't have a data plan so I will be monitoring data usage closely.

If anyone could tell me an app or something that would warn me or tell me when something is trying to connect to the internet i would appreciate it.

Basically I want to be able to recieve MMS messages but I don't want the phone connecting to the internet otherwise.

Thanks for all help

Before I had a data plan I used NoData from Modaco. It lets you lock out the data connection so it can't connect without your knowledge. Just a suggestion. You have to register to download it but it's free.

Re: Touch Pro internet usage

Ok thanks.

So I called verizon and asked them to hook it up but they told me that a data plan is required. Is there anyway around this? Any suggestions would be nice thanks.

I don't think it forces 1X, just on or off. You're right about MMS. With data toggled off you only get SMS.
