Warranty reasons - Problem with Htc touch pro
Hi people...(sorry for some errors in the english)(i'm from portugal)
I have a Htc touch pro with some problems...(the space and other letters only work with very pressure and the phone at times restart alone)  I have buy the phone in miau.pt from other person and at this time i have warranty at least 1year and 3 months... I have search in this forum but I don't have found a similar case... I have send the phone for warranty, thinking that the phone was the original software... The guys said that the phone don't have the original software, and not give any warranty... I want try to put the phone original and send other time to warranty... Do you help me with this? I don't have much experience but I have to learn and try... I don't now what the guy have modified... I have read that is possible to modify spl,radio and rom... I only want the phone original to win green light in the warranty... What is the best way to know what is the original rom? Please people, help me with this...  Best Regards Ricardo Afonso

honestly, you'll find more help at xda-developers.com for your problem. TMN is a gsm carrier and they have alot more gsm support than we do. we have alot more cdma support.
you'll need to flash back to original software. that will get you started. hopefully you can find out on xda what software you need. they also list all the gsm roms on their site.

Also consider, if they sent the phone back for that reason and said it isn't covered under the warranty now, I would think they have the phone in whatever system they use and will probably deny you all warranty work seeing as how you sent it in, in the first place. Just food for thought.

Hi people ...
Thanks for the help  ...I have already send other time the phone to the warranty service and now, I have to wait and see what happens...  The first owner have modified the phone with hard SPL and after this with other rom... I have put the original SPL and the original rom from HTC...With the serial number of the phone in the page of HTC we have exactly the orginal rom of the phone... When I have some news, i'm gonna post them... Best Regards, Ricardo

if warranty is still an issue, either get insurance and make a claim after a certain amount of time, pay for repairs at a repair center or computer store (sometimes they fix phones) or get the parts and replace them yourself.
