Getting my picture mail back

SOLVED! ABORT MISSION!
I found the cab file.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/yuz4yj...1.14.4-cab.cab

Resume mission. It's flaky and doesn't work 8 times out of 10!
DRAT! Why the smeg is it so hard to do this?
----------------------------------------------------------

OK I searched and searched; time to ask directly.

Pre Flashing situation:
I can send and receive pictures with my stock Sprint ROM. It's automagic. They show up in my email box. I can view a picture in "pictures and videos" and send it. Lots of them in one email. No size limit that I can find. It's all happiness.

Post Flashing Situation all ROMs I've tried so far:
No send picture options except for one in SSM/MMS that only handles little bitty pictures and wants to compress larger ones. People send me pictures but I never get them. Lost my happiness.

What I did:
Guessed that I have to set up a picture email account. Tried [number]@messaging.sprintpcs.com and [number]@pm.sprint.com but what's the password that I use? The phone came ready to go and I can't find the picturemail account info (see below).

Flashed back to stock ROM. Everything works fine.

Tried to find the settings.
Went into email. menu/accounts/accounts. It shows "text messages", "sprint picture mail" and "Setup New Email Account". All options ghosted out except for set up new account. Can't seem to find the info to set up picture mail. Can't access picture mail account settings to see what the address and at least the number of char in the password are. That info must be built into the phone ROM or something.

Searched here. Found a couple "sprint picture mail.cab" files.

Flashed back to a new ROM. Two new roms to be accurate.

Installed the cabs.

Tried to send/receive pictures. Failed. No Picture Mail account. Found "Sprint Picture Mail" in programs but running it gives me "can not register" errors.

Help please. These new ROMs are miracles but if I can't send/receive pictures then they are useless to me.

What did I miss?
Thanks

Re: Getting my picture mail back

1st... wrong thread. 2nd what roms have you tried. I'd recommend mine.. lol.. or twisted dan's. Havent flashed his but he does good work. 3rd. Which arcsoft version are you using if the you flash doesnt include it.

Quick Answer attempt. Sprint is supposed to set up all your user info automagially, All you should have to do is tell MMS program to its thing @ http://mms.sprintpcs.com port :80 Wap type 2.0

Re: Getting my picture mail back

>1st... wrong thread.

Sorry. it seems right. The ROMs were in here and Sprint Picture Mail would be an upgrade to WM 6.1 or 6.5, no? I thought somebody might know how to add it as an "upgrade". Oops.

>2nd what roms have you tried.

Energy, MightyROM, Stock 6.5, Stripped 6.5 and a couple others.

>I'd recommend mine.

Downloading ROM 3-9-10 Twisted Goodsense LANDSCAPE!! Sense 2.5 build 21876 right now.

>3rd. Which arcsoft version are you using
>tell MMS program

Nothing called Arcsoft or MMS[anything] anywhere in program files or settings. Downloaded Arcsoft and installed but nothing with "Arcsoft" in the name shows up anywhere in program files or settings.

Solid white page with no text or graphics. Tried IE, Firefox and Opera. Also tried in the phone's browsers. Same solid white page.

>port :80 Wap type 2.0

??????

Thanks for the attempt. Maybe your ROM will have the MMS/Sprint picturemail option. ROM 3-9-10 Twisted Goodsense LANDSCAPE!! Sense 2.5 build 21876

Thank you.

Re: Getting my picture mail back

You want MMS on a rom w/arcsoft You're going to have to menu then insert (whatever) while composing a txt. OR New/MMS Before THAT you'll have to make sure the MMS client is set to use sprint's mms server... which is at that address with no web page... lol. ANYWAYZ MMS should work on td's rom OUT OF THE BOX so you should be FINE. Good Luck.

Downloaded your ROM 3-9-10 Twisted Goodsense LANDSCAPE!! Sense 2.5 build 21876.

Dug around in all menus and options and everything.

Nothing called Arcsoft or MMS[anything] anywhere that I can find. Checked in program files, settings and in the email screen. All there is is the same messaging that they all have but in this one the file size is only 500K.

No place to enter that web address you gave me.

What am I missing?

Here are pictures of what's in the old ROM. This is what I'm looking foir.

Re: Getting my picture mail back

I am running NFSFANS rom. Its got some bad bugs so I am about to try another rom. But I was able to get picture mail to fully function using JD Arcsoft 5.2.1.22.cab. Install reboot and it worked for me on sprint. Give that a try...

Re: Getting my picture mail back

thanks that did work, though it is only 500k instead of 1000 like on the sprint rom, but i might just live with that as long as it works.
