Metropcs Fix opera 10

hey guys and gals who have not been able to use opera 10 for metropcs, i dont know if somone has already figured this out or not, but to fix opera 10 you can type in "opera:config" and go down to custom user string or somthing like that i forget what it says exactly, and copy and paste the user string from opera 9.5 ( the version that works on metropcs) into the custom user string on Opera10 and save it, and your opera 10 should work perfectly

This helps (thanks by the way) although since you weren't specific as to what setting needs to be modified, it makes this quite difficult for some and the guessing game may come into play, seeing how there isn't anything anywhere in these settings called Custom User String, some might get confused...some I'm here to clear things up. The string that needs to be modified is "Custom User-Agent", under the "User Prefs" and yes it works. Enjoy your Opera 10 browsing my Metro junkies!!!! I'm in the Bay area if you need help loading ROMs or general MetroPCS configuring on your Touch Pro or Touch Pro 2's

Re: Metropcs Fix opera 10

It works! Thank you sooo much!

Btw, i had trouble find the user string to copy in my opera 9.5 so i did some poking around and this is what everyone needs

Opera/9.51 (Microsoft Windows; PPC; Opera Mobi/buildnumber; U; en)

build number is where you input the build number of whichever version you'd like
it doesnt matter too much which version you use. some new builds have newer things like
flash lite 3.1 support and im guessing if you identify as an older build without that feature
it might not be available on the page, but thats just a guess. make sure to type it in
using correct spaces and capital letters. enjoy opera 10 metro users!

Re: Metropcs Fix opera 10

Another note, for alot of opera mobile 9.5 and 9.7 builds when you first open the browser and establish a new data connection, the first page you try to open, say your home page like google, will give an error establishing connection. this is fine. all you have to do while loading a web page for the first time is refresh the page and viola! I always hit stop the first time it trys to load a page and then hit refresh, and it works like a charm. not really too big an issue.

Ok I found the User Agent thing that im supposed to change.

Can someone give me the exact Opera 9.5 or 9.7 user agent string??

I've tried this one:
Opera/9.7 (Windows Mobile; HTC PPC; Opera Mobi/35166; U; en) Presto 2.2.1

(instead of 35166, i put 3600)

What other way can I try?
