Re: are you satisfied with your touch pro purchase?

Didn't really buy the phone. Got it when my mogul keyboard died. But all i think the phone is missing is a larger screen and a faster processor. Besides that, i'm pretty satisfied until i get the inevitable TP2 upgrade or until the next winmo phone is released

Re: are you satisfied with your touch pro purchase?

absolutely love this phone. has it's bugs but with a custom rom, most of those are fixed.

coming from a dumbphone (ic902) and a blackberry, this thing is amazing! i can do almost everything on it that i would need my laptop for. it's great for work, great for home, and great for play. really, other than the bugs, what more could you ask for?

Not to rain on your parade, but this is kind of a place where people who actually like their Touch Pros hang out. I doubt you'll find many people who aren't happy with them, once they are "improved" with some customization.

Re: are you satisfied with your touch pro purchase?

Truth is I had a blueangel before my TP.. I loved the big screen, and the keyboard.. the only thing the TP had that was new was a faster chip (that plays movies slower) and GPS, but with Bell I can't use GPS unless it's tied to some Data hoarding app. I'm a bit cheesed

I love mine with one exception. WiFi reception is terrible even when I hold it next to my router. My old Mogul had much better reception. Everything else is great.

Re: are you satisfied with your touch pro purchase?

At the time of it's release I think it was pretty much a cutting edge phone.

Now that smartphone technology has progressed...
-it would be nice if it had a faster processor (1GHz or so) and a WVGA screen
-The phone is a bit thick but I like the form factor outside of that

I do wish the left-right-up-down buttons around the enter button had a more positive feel to them. They are hard to press consistently.

This was my first smartphone and I've found more uses for the phone than I expected too...
-It's my phone
-It's my gps (I really like garmin XT)... this in particular was an unexpected but pleasant surprise
-I love the fact that I can tether... I don't use it that often but it's incredibly useful when I need internet access on my laptop
-I like having my work calendar and work email along with personal emails on one device
-It's a reasonable internet device, now that Opera mobile 10 is out
-Oh... and it's a niftly little flashlight.

I will say that I wasn't impressed with the phone out of the box... but now that I've flashed it and customized it I really like it.

Re: are you satisfied with your touch pro purchase?

Initially heck no!, horrible initial rom, soo unstable, laggy, buggy, list goes on. But like every device (computer, xbox360, routers) the best potential is unlocked when you dig deeper into advanced functions and custmizations. Like who buys a computer sets it up and is satisfied... probably no one!, every one has there own persoanl touch and such to make something theres, add a little modding to this phone and VOILA! sick tricked out ORIGINAL touch PRO for you and you only. Its not the product that defines its credability its who it belongs to! Best example my buddys got a new quad core i7 windows 7 x86, runs right good ocasional freezes and such, now my computer is a single core 2.7ghz 3gb ram and a terabyte of hd space modded and tweaked to the max. I have a better boot/startup time for apps/system/ie but he kills me in program resources and compiling but thats about it lol. In reality it all boils down to does it do what you want it to.
