original wmodem for wm6.5 on TP?

I found wmodem.exe on mightyrom but it stays connected for 6 mins then dies..

anyone know the procedure? i foudn the vista driver and got it working in windows 7

i hate internet connection sharing. wmodem is so much better! someone help me out. thanks
