Adding Opera webpage shortcut to today screen

Okay, first post, and here's what I got and what I want to do:

I'm using SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 with MSkip Pro Plus on a HTC Touch Pro. Incredible combination and well worth the $30 dollars for SBP.

What I have is a on one of the today screens is all weather information. I have the built-in weather widget that displays all the vital info, but what I want to do is on that same screen add links to places like the National Weather Service, the Storm Prediction Center, the local radar, etc.

I've managed to get an Internet Explorer link on the screen (url file), but I need it to load into Opera as IE tries to display mobile versions of the page whereas Opera is more efficient. Opera is set to the default browser as every other link on the phone opens automatically in Opera EXCEPT for the link I created on the screen.

I've already did the registry fixes that's plastered all over the Internet to make Opera the default browser. I guess the better question is how can I put an individual Opera favorite on the Today screen?

I'll find a way to post screen shots later if all that sounds confusing.

Thanks.

Most url files default to IE, since Opera does not know how to handle them.

There is a program out there called URL2Opera, which associates .url files with opera, have you tried that?
