Phone sends duplicate emails - Sprint
 
I've tried searching this forum and many others for an answer to this, but I haven't had any luck. Therefore, I feel like it is okay for me to post a thread about it. Anyways, I have my gmail account setup with my Sprint Touch Pro's email program, but I have noticed that whenever I send an email from the phone, it always sends out my message AND a duplicate of the same message to the recipient. Therefore, the recipient gets two of the same emails from me. Does anyone else have this issue? If so, is there a fix?

Dude, that is called a Phantom email and no i dont have that issue, I suspect it could be a setting on the gmail server side. Go in there and check that your settings are correct and nothing that doesnt need to be checked is unchecked#-o you could also delete the account and recreate it.

are you sure the recipient is actually getting a double?
gmail shows your sent mail in you 'inbox'.

I have the same problem. it always sends duplicates when I send mail from my phone. I went in and checked my gmail setting and I can't see anything that is out of the ordinary.

Sorry I can't help but I'm having the same problems since the start of the year, Jan 2010 approx. When I send email from my phone, a Treo 700P, I get 2 duplicate copies of the email in my Yahoo email.
Also, I used to be able to send my Memos by email to myself and they would arrive in my regular email as attachments. That doesn't work anymore either. And I cannot send Picture mail anymore but I can recieve.
I was on a Sprint Support chat line and they had me remove battery and after a minute replace the battery and then when reconnected enter a code that would download a Vision update:
On the Dial Pad Enter ## 3282#
Choose Data.
Choose Update Vision Profile.
Choose Now.
Update Completes Automatically.
Choose OK to return to the Phone Pad
Vision is Sprint's name for the Data Plan or internet connection. When done they wanted me to remove the battery again to reset.
Did not fix problem. I still was sending duplicate emails. However one memo was was sent as an attachment successfully but only once and I'm back to the original problem. I'm going to try downloading the Vision upgrade again. Will let you know my results.
