Please help I am not tech savvy But I have a touch pro need to make it a modem???

I have a htc touch pro phone I just got and I had it flashed for cricket everything works but I do not know how to connect it to the internet? Meaning I have a laptop and the guy that sold me the phone off ebay said that I can turn the phone into a modem and connect it with usb to my laptop anbd use the smart phone capabilities for my laptop to connect to the internet can someone give me a step by step directions on how to do this please and Thank You and Merry Christmas!

No the reason I asked is because my phone was flashed to cricket so I was wondering if that makes a difference making the phone connect to the internet is all or is it the same configuration because it is htc?

i dont know about ICS and how well itll work with cricket, but any of the apps should work

As far as I'm aware, it should work fine. You may want to do a search for tethering on cricket, as I do recall seeing a couple of threads on it a while back. I think you'll have to set your web browser on your computer to use the Cricket proxy server, but otherwise it should work fine.

it depends on what OS you laptop uses. Vista is easy, with modded rom, just connected the usb cable, and select internet sharing, if you're using MAC OS, I would recommended the wifi router route.

Just updated my Wmwifirouter to 1.6, works flawlessly. I have been using it since I had a Mogul with NO issues!

For the non tech savvy just buy the program. It's well worth it and it works great. Doesn't matter the carrier, make sure you have a data plan and abide by the usage limits.
