how to save sms to computer
I need to be able to save my sms messages to my compter for filing. Is there an internal software solution in TFL3D or WM 6.1 or do I have to use 3rd party. Any suggestions on software for 3rd party?

use pim back up (free) dude for sms, also there is spb back up, sprite back up (paid)..do you hav a back up solution for your TP? if not , you must...

+1 for Dashwire.

Your SMS aren't stored on your personal comupter, but rather online so you can access them anywhere with internet access.

Plus it it can really save your butt if something happens your phone dies. About a month ago my Motorola Q completely died. I had no way to recover any contact information from the phone, I was away from home and the office and wasn't set up with an Exchange server so no activesync. The first thing I did when I got my TP was to add Dashwire. After the intial sync, everything this was right in my world!

I used Pim Backup as well. It's a good free utility. It does backup for:

- appointments
- call logs
- contacts
- messages (SMS, MMS, ...)
- speed dials
- tasks

i have sprite backup but i dont see how you access the files. There is a folder called backup on my storage card with the my backups but its and .exe that i saved on my pc but when i try to open it I get "is not a valid win32 application"

What version of Sprite do you have? you will need to dowload the file manager that will let you manipulate that back up exe. Are you wanting to view your sms (not positive it is possible with sprite) on the pc r just restore?

just view sms. The sprite program i have does not have a file manager. It just came with a .cab file.
