Touch Pro SMS FACEBOOK & ALLTEL

Is there a way on my touch pro I can send an sms text as Verizon. I am a former Alltel customer and Facebook does not support Alltel for some reason. To sign up for Facebook mobile you have to send a txt and it keeps saying my carrier is not supported. I've tried changing the prl and sid but there must be something else.

now that you are verizon you should be supported

Nope, somehow the it knows my phone is Alltel... Still will not work. There is a huge thread on FB with tons of people with the same problem.

hmmm. do you actually still have an alltel plan? see i upgraded my plan but its still has alltel features, but i think its an verizon plan and it works awesome. i get the txt messages and i can update my status. weird.

make sure your connections are correct, i.e.

user name:
password:
Domain:

man i turned that stuff off after getting txts from my status and other stuf 3 days late 2-3 days in a row.

I have a Verizion TouchPro that is on my AllTell plan/SVC. My wife has a samsung (nonsmart) that is AllTell Phone on AllTel plan/svc (family with mine). We both did the SMS facebook thing and put the carrier as verizion and it works just fine both of us. Also email to SMS works fine for both of us using the verizion domain mailer.
