Re: tp2 not compatible with older fair and flex plans?

Be careful pushing too hard with the wrong reps...I had an issue over the summer that resulted from a rogue rep deciding to torpedo my account...I had to file an official complaint, but basically I had 30% in discounts from three different discounts, and this rep initiated an audit in the new system that only allows you to have one...I ended up with just a 20% Sprint loyalty discount (lost my work one and some smaller one)...this cannot and will not be replaced in the new IT systems, so be careful with that...40% off is insane and they KNOW no other carrier will approach this level of discount so bluffing to walk is not a concern to educated reps...glad to hear it worked out for you this time...also, that $20 credit, which I've gotten before, is not permanent...expect this to expire in a year...no matter what you were told, this is the case...trust me...

I called them out on that, then they conceded that it's simply their policy to charge MORE money for buying a new phone and renewing a contract. He acknowledged it wasn't fair to me, and added a recurring $20.00/mo credit to the account, in addition to the current 40% discounts I already receive. So 3 lines with Everything Data, unlimited airtime, unlimited mobile, etc for $93.00/month before tax. Came out ok, but the phone call took 2 hours.

Totally the reason I avoid CS people all together... at least SERO people can still use the EPRP website, dunno what F&F Plan people can use, especially since most rebates have some kind of price restriction.

Re: tp2 not compatible with older fair and flex plans?

IMHO, the fact that ANY phone requires ANY specific plan is a bunch of BS. The only concession I would make for this is with older phones with outdated technology that would not allow the phone to access the network for services. Other than that, any phone that is able to use current network technologies should be able to use any plan provided that the carrier has not locked it out in order to make more money.

Here is the EPRP site. (here is the info you need to get in not sure if it still works). SERO & EPRP customers can also call this number: 1-888-882-4030 (from the EPRP site).

Basically when Sprint discontinued SERO (Sprint Employee Referral Offer) they replaced it with EPRP (Everything Plus Referral Plan), which is basically SERO [e.g. $50] but for twice as much [e.g. $60] (still cheaper than regular plans [e.g. $70]), but with the option to get any Sprint phone (aka the palm pre or htc hero) and with premier data included (Sprint Navigator + more SprintTV channels).

SERO plan holders can still order phones and extend their contracts through the EPRP site and use rebate forms labels for EPRP only (which is good cause the total plan price requirements of regular rebates are higher than SERO plans, but EPRP rebates cover SERO plans).

FYI I got all the info from sprintusers.com they have an entire forum dedicated to SERO. It was really informative, I read through the threads before I upgraded to the TP2 on my SERO plan.

IMO it's stupid that certain phones REQUIRE everything data plans (Hero, Instinct (all of them), Moment, Pre)... but fortunately the TP2 works fine on all Sprint plans.
Yup... You gotta love the misuse of the word "compatible." "Allowed" is the word they're looking for...
