sprite backup problems

Have any Sprite Backup users had a problem restoring to a TP2? I'm using version 6.5.5 Build 1 and Mighty Rom 2.1 UI 11/25/09. It backups fine with no errors, but when restoring after a hard reset I get a warning that it was not able to restore SMS_Providers.dll. If I restore without a hard reset, I get this plus about four more such messages. Is SMS_Providers.dll a critical file? My device seems to operate fine otherwise. I tried using SPB backup before I tried Sprite, but it couldn't backup without errors. SPB used to work perfectly on my TP1, but so far I haven't found a perfect solution for my TP2.

Re: sprite backup problems

Generally you don't use a full backup when changing versions of WM.
Each build of WM has some differences that have caused me problems in the past. What I usually do when changing builds is create a backup of ONLY contacts, calendar, notes, email, tasks, and items in the My Documents folder.

Re: sprite backup problems

SMS_Providers.dll is probably part of the carrier cab that you install after setting up the new ROM.

Re: sprite backup problems

When I get this type of error in Sprite I just run back up again. 2nd times solve most of those errors...

Re: sprite backup problems

Try SPB Backup. The trial lets you use it 5 times before you need to buy it.
Also Microsoft MyPhone works pretty good too for a free program.
I haven't used Sprite much.
