Big Problem with my TP2

Verizon TP2, default/stock ROM

I was browsing the web using Opera. It locked up the phone on me. So I soft-reset. Now, the damn thing is almost worthless to me. After multiple (5x at least) soft resets, and 1 battery pull, the thing is still acting like it is locked up.

I apparently can't do anything, including activesync.

Edit: Check that...I finally got it to connect to activesync, but I still can't sync my contacts and whatnot. I can explore the device. Is there a file I can back up to preserve my contacts info?

Re: Big Problem with my TP2

Sounds like it's time to try a hard reset.

This operation will delete all your personal data

1. With the device turned off, press and hold the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons until you see this message on the screen.

"This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel."

2. Release the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons.
3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.

Re: Big Problem with my TP2

Ok, if it's working now, great. Then disregard my last post.

If it syncs properly and you have set it up correctly in Device Center on your PC, it can backup contacts automatically with Outlook. Not Outlook Express, but Outlook.

It isn't working 100%. The activesync software says that it cannot connect, but yet I can explore the device. If I initiate a sync from the device, it appears to have sync'd fine (I got the most recent appointment in outlook now, and I entered it on the phone).

I think I am going to hard reset it sometime here, maybe even unlock it and run a lean, mean ROM.

Re: Big Problem with my TP2

Try clicking the Mobile Device Center Icon on your desktop. The big round Green one, not the taskbar at the bottom. See if it asks you to setup a connection. If so, do so. Follow the prompts and check what you want it to Sync.
