Finer Volume Adjustment?

Does anyone know if there is a way to have the volume buttons give finer adjustment? They seem to go in 20% increments. I'd really, really like them go in 10% or even 5% increments. Right now, if I want somewhere between 0 and 20, I have to go into the settings and drag the slider which is a pain...and doesn't stick once one of the volume buttons are pressed...back to 20% increments...

TIA,
Jim

Re: Finer Volume Adjustment?

OK, I'm not trying to be smart here, so don't take this the wrong way: Have you tried to actually adjust the volume by touch, or by stylus?

I noticed that the volume changes in 20% incriments when using the toggle buttons... but if you use the stylus you can actually change it one bar (so, %5 maybe) at a time if you like.

Still not precision adjustment, but a little better.

I actually didn't know this. Thanks!

Re: Finer Volume Adjustment?

Actually, I have tried that and it doesn't work. At least it does not work on my Verizon Touch Pro 2. If I use my finger or the stylus on the bars it still only goes up in 20% increments.
If other Tp2 don't behave this way, then presumably it is configurable? Or are you running a different ROM? I'm still on the stock ROM.

Re: Finer Volume Adjustment?

OK. Just played with it again. I use the separate volume controls. The Ringer volume only goes up in 20% increments, but the System volume does go up in single bar increments. This does solve my problem though...so thanks msh441.

Re: Finer Volume Adjustment?

on my TP and TP2 if you hit one of the volume keys to bring up the volume screen and then drag up or down it adjusts in 1 bar increments for both ringer AND system.

Re: Finer Volume Adjustment?

Interesting. I'm on the Verizon stock ROM. System volume will go up in 1 bar increments, but the Ringer volume goes up in 3 bar increments when I slide my finger up and down.
