Pocket Shield FTW, I doubted but was quickly turned into a believer.

Re: Upon further review...

Still on bone stock and during 8.5 hours of Black Friday shopping (from 10pm Thu to 630am Fri) I was on my TP2 constantly. Between getting almost hourly deal alerts via push mail, texting with friends that were also standing in lines, calling for pizza delivery in line, pulling webpages (buying Walmart.com & Sears.com BF deals online while in line at other stores), playing games, and listening to MP3's on the phone I only went through 30% of my battery.

That's a huge improvement over the TP1, and left me very impressed. The only issue I really have with the TP2 is that Manilla 2 uses so much RAM and all of the background apps are excluded from the Task Manager. Only change I've made is to remove all the excludes so I can keep my memory usage in check. Now, after heavy usage, my RAM usage is down around 40% instead of 75%.

Since getting the TP2 I've been a much heavier data user again because it doesn't kill the battery so fast like the TP1 would. So I definitely cannot agree with this assessment.

Btw, for my locking procedure, I use the QuickList and select Lock. So far I have yet to pull my TP2 out of my pocket to find the screen on anyhow because the power button is recessed better also.
