When unlocking the phone I noticed you use wmdc if you have vista-question is will I lose my previous sync? I have been syncing for years and losing the info would be fatal. Second question is if it wont lose the previous sync, will it automatically load all my previous sync info? fyi I would be going form 6.1 to 6.5.

i went from a stock 6.1 to customrom 6.5.
basically if you have outlook that you're syncing too
all you have to do is resetup the phone to sync and it will sync all that info back on to your phone.
ive flashed a few custom roms and been able to get all my outlook stuff back on my phone no problem

Sign up for Microsoft Myphone. I syncs all contacts, texts, music, etc. Most of the custom 6.5 roms have it built in already. All you'll have to do is sign up and sync before flashing and you're good to go. I have used it to sync data on 3 different pda's. I don't even use WMDC because of it. Just be sure you sync FIRST. You can even sign on online and see your contacts and print them off. Hope this helps.

Thanks..I saw a video on flashing but the guy had a new phone and there was no previous link with sync so my exact question is since I have been syncing when I unlock will it lose that info?

WMDC or your phone?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think just "unlocking" the phone will clear the memory. Flashing a new rom will definitely wipe the memory clean and you will have to reload it through sync.

Anyway, WMDC should not be affected and you should be able to reload everything after a rom flash or hard reset. Like I said though, I don't ever use WMDC.

I miss read the question. If you unlock (use Hard-SPL) it will not do anything to your sync or data. If you flash it will make you lose everything that isn't backed up (either via outlook, myphone, or some other 3rd party app).

You will lose everything on the phone if you flash (and don't back up). I thought the wmdc uses outlook or something to sync? Whatever it uses you won't lose whats on the wmdc as long as you have it so the items on the computer replace items on the phone and not the other way around. if that makes any sense?

regardless if you're only unlocking and not flashing yet, then you won't lose anything

microsoft "my phone" keeps backing up items to my device storage and I am out of storage again, for the fourth time tonight.
