Cabs, songs, and other files broken after flashing new rom

I have always experienced this problem, but now I would like to finally put it to rest. I just flashed the mandatory MightyRom, and had some pretty sweet cabs. Granted I save them all to my computers and flash drives, it can become a pain when away from my computer and want to install them. Essentially what happens is after the flash, the files get a .menc after it. I know that that is encrypting it. How do I unencrypt it or make that not happen?
