Which new ROM to handle standard WM today plugin
 

So with sense ui, manila, 6.5, leo etc. which is the best combo that can seemlessly still handle standard old today plugins like pocket weather?

Im not sure I understand the question. Standard today plugins will work with any ROM.
Manila(aka touchFlo, senseUI), is a today plugin.

There is a plugin called Manila Today Page that will allow you to have a standard today screen with plugins within TouchFlo

just go start>settings>today>items> and uncheck htc sence and make sure windows default is unchecked(only for 6.5 and 6.5.1). the only options are for the classic today screen ie date,owner info,tasks, device lock

Bummer, that's what I had been doing but I thought perhaps one of these new systems could handle it.

I use second today and softkey manager to run weatherpanel. it works with 6.5 and 6.5.1 roms.. I change the left softkey to say weather and it pulls up the old today screen.... can post if you cant find...

As Darkness321 said, you can use Manila Today Page to make the old Today Screen a tab in Manila.

Then you can use my process described here to make MTP the first/default tab and get rid of the useless clock page.
