medical question???what is the side effect of flashing the device too many times??

I have this question in my mind.....and I am wndering if any engineer , technician , computer specialist or software expert can answer it .

what is the effect of flashing of the device many times with many ROMs , does it shorten the life of the hardware ? does it create something like (bad sectors ) in the regular computers or it is totally safe .

we will keeeeeeep flashing , as log as these wonderful ROMs are coming up , we will never give up ......but this question is just for curiosity.

Re: medical question???what is the side effect of flashing the device too many times?

Same as using a USB drive my guess..

flashing would be no different then reading and writing pictures to your device.

IT wont get bad sectors cause it is not magnetic media, in this case its wear corruption but modern flash tech is pretty good where they tried to destroy a USB stick by writing 16,000,000 cycles to the same spot and it was still intact.

Aka dont worry about it, only thing flashing causes is anxiety to the user

Re: medical question???what is the side effect of flashing the device too many times?

Most FLASH ROMs have at least 10,000 write cycles. This means that you should be FLASH the device at least 10,000 times. In practice many are closer to 100,000+ cycles.

I can't speak specifically about the TP2 but only in general terms for FLASH ROMs.

Too funny...25 times...lol.

Seriously, it's more like the 10,000 from everything I've ever read. You'll wear out before your device does from flashing.

Side affects:

1. Abnormal sleep deprivation
2. Increased headaches
3. Relationship issues with significant other

and ultimately

4. You will be cut off from all explicit activities because they
will think you are cheating on them with a PHONE!

Thumbs down Re: medical question???what is the side effect of flashing the device too many times?

Hitchhiker: No...NO you got it all wrong! It's 7 ROM flashes, not 6! 7's the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 dwarves. 7, man, that's the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.

Ted: Why?

Hitchhiker: 'Cause you're ****in' fired!
