I've never seen 3G on my phone...same with you?

I've never seen 3G on my phone, I keep getting thrown back and forth between Ev and 1x. Do I need to do something particular in order for this to happen? Has anyone else never had 3G on their phones yet?

On Sprint's CDMA network, EVDO Rev A is equivalent to 3G on GSM networks like AT&T.

So on your phone EV=3G.

Remember as VulcanGrey stated EV is a 3G network, just in CDMA technology terms. And differing to 3G EVDO cant do simultaneous voice and data. Even with EVDO your phone will switch to 1X during phone calls, sending texts, etc.. The big difference, besides the speed is that a 1X connection will disconnect data when a call comes in, where EVDO wont.

Also our phones will not work with 3G GSM connections only EDGE (same speed equivalent to 1X)

U will NEVER see 3G on a Sprint phone.

EV is Sprint's version of 3G. They just got tired of trying to go against the grain and now all their commercials say that they have a 3G network.. although they really dont.

Dont sweat it though... Your still getting full speed - Usually faster than AT&T

i tethered my phone wirelessly and tried the cnet bandwith test. i was able to get 800kbs to 1mb has anyone else tested this

I have never seen EV!!!! Anyone have any idea when Evansville IN will get evdo from sprint?

Ok.. Seriously no offense ya all idiots..!>. Ev isnt 3g.. Sprint does have 3g.. Ev is the sprint broad band network.. Touch pro 2 on sprint doesnt use 3g it uses the faster ev.. Sprint does have 3g network.. Thats why on normal fones they have 3g and it says 3g.. Ev is broadband network.. Which is quicker than 3g.. For the person who asked bout ev.. Look threw ya manual.. It says wat ev it..

i did and i got 1.5mps on sprint using my TP2 in NYC.
