Proximity Sensor Disabled by Default

Hello everyone, 1st post here. I got my T-mobile data only plan with no voice, and I'm guessing that T-mobile disabled the proximity sensor of my TP2.

My question is... did my carrier really disabled it? If yes or not, is there a way I can enable it?

I use Skype with it now, and I would like to use the proximity sensor so I won't hit buttons with my face when I'm on the phone.

Re: Proximity Sensor Disabled by Default

The cases for the tmo TP2 don't show the hole for the prox sensor...maybe the hardware for it isn't even there? Then again, my research involves 5 minutes on eBay looking at hard cases.

Re: Proximity Sensor Disabled by Default

You should be able to feel a low spot behind the HTC logo on the top left. This is the location of the proximity sensor

Hmmm, I don't feel a low spot at all.

Re: Proximity Sensor Disabled by Default

Also, I used T-mobile's screen protector that doesn't have a hole for the proximity sensor behind the THC logo... could that have disabled it?

Re: Proximity Sensor Disabled by Default

I know it's pretty sensitive Perhaps there is a registry setting to setup the sensitivity as well as it's on/off state. I'm going to look in my Sprint phone.

Re: Proximity Sensor Disabled by Default

you cannot see it, it's a small indent where the hole is for the sensor

Re: Proximity Sensor Disabled by Default

I've looked through the registry & found a lot of cool information, but nothing relating to the proximity sensor. Of course they could have called it anything
