Ebay Battery or Name Brand One?

Okay guys, I wanted to get your opinion on something.

Despite how everyone is raving about the battery life on the TP2, I still need an extra battery. (Have 3 for the TP1)

I know that the Sedio site just came out with accessories for the TP2 and an extended battery is one of those items. It is $49.99. However on eBay you can find an extended battery for $5.

My question is, I know it used to be that using eBay batteries was dangerous and you ran the risk of damaging your phone. Is it still that way? Do you guys buy the real name brand batteries for your phone? Or do you go ahead and buy the eBay one?

I have to make a decision today as the Sedio discount code expires today! Thanks a lot for the input guys.

Sedio if you want over priced products...Ebay if you want a 2 batteries that will work for 90% less then what Sedio charges for one. I have always bought ebay batteries...Never a problem.

I personally have bought eBay generic batteries for laptops, cameras, and other cellphones and honestly NEVER had any issues. If it went out after a few months/years, I would just buy another one since they were so cheap. I've had more generic batteries last longer then the OEM batteries directly from the manufacture. Plus, even when you buy a battery directly from the manufacture, they won't warranty it for a long time anyways.

I bought this battery on ebay and it has worked just fine for me. I get at least the same if not a little more life out of it compared to the stock one. Also after some looking around i found this battery which claims to have a 2000mah capacity and fit the stock cover...

From my experience with ebay batteries for my Touch diamond, they won't damage your phone and it'll work, for the most part, fine. The the that was wrong with the battery was it always showed 1% battery life on the taskbar with the ebay batteries although it did lasted almost the same length as the stock battery.

The battery was also only covered with a HTC wrapper (I'm guessing fake) and the pH indicator was also fake.
