New ROM backup advice

Hey there. I'm fairly new to flashing ROM's, and I was wondering what the best solution for Backing up (or more importantly restoring) my phone is. At this point I've installed and removed more programs then I can possibly keep track of trying to figure out which ones I like and which ones I don't like. I use SPB Backup, and I see there is a ROM Upgrade mode, but I was wondering if it might be better to start fresh with the new ROM instead of bringing all the garbage from the old ROM along for the ride. If this sounds like a good idea, is there an easy way to keep all my system settings and ringtones and stuff like that to make the restore easier?

The few times I've flashed ROMs, it takes me a good week to get my phone back to the way I had it. I guess I'm just looking for advice from some of you more experienced flashers

Re: New ROM backup advice

you can pick and choose what you want to back up. i would sugest just the contacts as the programs you will reinstall may or may not work and cause issue.

but thats a reason why theres a cooked rom forum too.

are you trying to pump up your post count or something?!?! half of your last 25 post have been the same thing! stop trolling, the upgrades forum is for RELEASES or roms, radios, or kitchens what that means is that if someone is not RELEASING a rom, radio, or kitchen then they should not post there. if you still need help understanding i will be more than happy to try and explain it further...

Orignal poster personally i use Sashimi to restore all of my programs andd settings after flashing a new rom. google it for more information
