Verizon Default Homepage on MightyMike ROM

Is there anyway to make the Verizon Default Homepage the default homepage on Mighty's ROM? I used that page frequently since it had quick links to my non-popmail Yahoo account (since they charge for popmail) and ESPN. I tried inputting the homepage address into Opera but I assume it runs off of a Verizon core file since it kicks back 'Unable to locate' when I set it as the default Opera page.

Thanks in advance!

That was the original default homepage on my old i760. That one works but the one I am speaking of had the icons for Sports, Mail, News, Weather etc etc. and was setup like the HTC programs window (although it was a webpage).

The complete address is 'wap.vzw.mcore.com/vzwwap/app/today/default.aspx?' and is the HTC TP2 default Opera homepage fresh out of the box from Big Red.

I'll see if there is anything I can find.

Sweet! Thanks in advance. I'm guessing there is something in the Verizon stock files that kicks this into action because on the stock ROM I would input wap.vzw.mcore.com and hit enter at which time it would kick back the entire address as outlined above. Especially suspicious since 'app/today' is included in the kicked back page address.

Look forward to what, if anything, you can find. Thanks again.

Try this: http://converge.vzwwap.com/

This is the one on the Elite ROM.

That address redirects to the one I specified above however, the address I entered above is then followed inline by
'error.aspx?errorcode=400&errortext=Bad+Request%2c +Auth+header+not+valid.&insptid='.

When redirected though, Opera does not display the 'unable to locate' page and instead goes to a plain white page.

Strange.

You've been thanked for your efforts and I'll continue to dig on this until I figure it out. Its not even so much that I need it at this point as much as it is WHY it is happening.

try it in IE. This is what is on the Elite ROM's default page.

Edit: Just tried it in IS and still get the same error message. So don't know what it is.

Verizon charges for POPmail? Since when?

I've got g-mail, yahoo and Comcast POPmail accounts that are set to update regularly. My phone also syncs with my work Oulook e-mail when plugged in each day.

I've never been charged anything extra doing this using the $29 unlimited e-mail/interned plan on my Samsung i760 or the new TP2.

Maybe your using the phone w/o a data plan? Somehow talked Verizon into WiFi only?

Just curious.

My bad....I think they charge for smtp service. I dont exactly recall what it was they charge (or charged) for since I havent look into it since my i730 which was 3 years ago, so maybe they changed.

Back on topic, I believe the error has something to do with the proxy settings from what i have gathered to this point so I will reflash the stock ROM, check the proxy settings in Opera then go from there.

Its official, today I have flashed more than a pervert in Central Park.
