Re: To flash or not to flash

I tried out Mighty 6.5 for most of today and I'm already back on 6.1. I was very impressed with how smooth the HSPL/ROM update process, and how much extra storage space I had with a custom ROM, was but I was not impressed at all with 6.5. I experienced slower performance in Core Player, an annoying Start menu that wasn't alphabetized, laggy performance, considerably more RAM usage, and other annoyances. Not worth the hours I spent setting everything up. I saved a full SPB backup of the 6.5 setup in case I want to back though.

EDIT: nm, I already flashed back to play. LOL.

The only thing I have done is two cabs to get about 25mb free memory.

Sprint will release their 6.5 in Jan? Long way off and slow.

I do have interest in the unlock SIM for domestic use but I think it need to the stock ROM unlock first. True?

Yes HSPL first.

Re: To flash or not to flash

I think I am with the majority on this too. Why flash??

The Sprint ROM is pretty freaking good. If you want differences...install the cab's. But why a whole new ROM. Now when I was on the TP, I know....give me a new ROM to unleash some of the phones potential. But the TP2 is already good. I can't imagine any of the custom ROMS making it better.

Or could they??!

I've only had mine a couple days, but I am really liking it over the TP.

Re: To flash or not to flash

I personally don't like 6.5. The interface just leaves too much to be desired for my tastes. I must admit that I don't use TFlo, but the origonal Windows today screen. I tried 6.5 on my Touch Diamond then went back to Mighty ROM 6.1. Like an idiot I flashed my Touch Pro2 to 6.5 last night and will now go back to 6.1. This is just my preference and will wait for a "better suited" upgrade for me. BTW, I hate the lack of start menu items
