Can't receive or send email

Is any one else having problems with email? I setup a yahoo and gmail account but neither one works. I checked and rechecked the settings but not joy. I even tried deleting and redoing both accounts but still no luck. When I click on "inbox" and then hit send receive, It just stis there saying "connecting....." and then times out with an error message " messages cannot be downloaded on your mobile device. Make sure you are connected and your email account settings are correct. Then, try to download messages again"
All other apps that rely on an internet connection like opera, google maps, bing etc work fine so i know I have internet. I did install the "nopushinternet_v2.cab" and the "SSk TP2 Dynamic Resource Proxy.cab" to free up some ram as per this thread http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=85996

Thanks all

Thanks clevelandwheeler, i just did a hard reset but still had no luck. Then I saw your post and disconnected the phone from the pc and its working now. Is there a setting that I can do to make it not try to go through the pc when connected?
Thanks for your help.
