TP2 Randomly Getting Stuck in Headphone Mode?
hi there!
I have a bunch of cabs (thanks to this forum) installed on my phone (batti, total commander, palringo, various visual enhancing cabs, etc) and my phone has worked flawlessly for about a month until yesterday when it would go into headphone mode even though there is nothing attached to the USB or headphone jack. The only way it will get out of headphone mode is apparently on its own because changing volume, soft resetting, removing the battery, and blowing compressed air into the headphone jack all don't work. Any idea what's happening? TIA! |

try plugging in headphones and unplugging them

The same happens to me. It can take upwards of 10 times plugging the headphones in and unplugging them for it to register sometimes.

yikes, I found the problem:
A couple of the pins in the USB connector got damaged somehow. I took it over to the sprint store and with a little jimmying, they got it all straightened and everything is back to normal. Phew, dodged a bullet there... and i didn't bother to get insurance when I got this phone! |

Sounds like a faulty headphone jack. Palm OS had it on the treo lines (I stopped using palm os on the centro) so I don't know if its fixed on...say the pro. The problem was with a little switch wasn't working properly. Hardresets didn't even fix it. Had to take the piece of crap treo's to the stores. I had this problem 1x so far on my TP2 and a hardreset fixed it. Hopefully its just a software bug and not hardware problem. |
