HALP! buddies phone is borked! how to manually backup contacts

I cant install or remove programs, but i can file explore. is there a file that contains the contacts, also text messages

in root of device look for pim.vol, copy/paste to sd card (that takes care of the contacts and sum other things im not sure what exactly) but dont know if txt is in there or sumwhere else...

MyPhone will backup your contacts and text messages, and more. Failing that, if you can sync with your PC, you could sync your contacts with Outlook.

I had him copy hte PIM file, looks like he had outlook too. He didn't realize that it synced with outlook.

He got a PRL update a day or tow ago and then yesterday it just went bonkers, tf3d wouldn't open, the task manager on the taskar wouldnt show up and doing anything on the phone was slow as shit, but it still had a lot of RAM avail.

Nothing like a hard reset to fix everything.
