GPS location tracker? I remember seeing one...

I believe there are a few of them, but I'm looking for a good app that can track my GPS location every few seconds (or longer if I can change the settings). Possibly log the locations in a file, and I can plot them on a map. Any suggestions?

I am also looking for a GPS logger. I like to get on my bicycle and just go. It would be nice to save a trip for future reference.

For working out either running, walking, bicycle even skating I recomend "Sportypal" (http://www.sportypal.com) It tracks you with GPS and at the end it puts it on a map for ya. Tells you average speed and a bunch of good info. For normal allday tracking I dont know what to recomend you, plus it would prob drain your battery even faster.

Re: GPS location tracker? I remember seeing one...

For more casual use GPS Tracking, I'm using Google Latitude and the API access from Google -- for example I have a tracking application for our next big hike event in October, combined with KML display. This lets our friends and family know where we are on the hike without much effort on my part.

The nice thing about using Latitude is that I can drop it down to cell-tower location and save my battery life for the hike. But this is useless if you're looking for GPS accurate tracklog info (bring an extra battery!)

Google Latitude: http://m.google.com/latitude
The tracker website I built: http://torontogeocaching.com/bthike

SkyFire works great for checking if my update went through, as Google Maps displays properly in that browser.

I guess I should clarify, I trvel a lot around the world, and I'd like to log the trips I take everywhere. So something that can use the GPS chip and log the coordinates on the phone (without using the phone for data), then plot them on a map later.

I think this is what your looking for
http://gpstracka.codeplex.com/
Simple straight up GPS to log file at specified interval. Then you can put it into Google earth( kml) or GPX.
I've used it to track bike rides and its perfect. Its much easier on the battery than sportypal is.

How do you set Google Maps to use cell phone only?
