Is it possible to keep the onscreen keyboard down from appearing?

Whenever i browse my Notes, the onscreen keyboard would always pop up and i'd have to put it down over and over. Happens in other applications too, is it possible to disable it from popping up?

I tried this, but it didn't make a difference for me. Can anyone confirm this works? Thanks!

Re: Is it possible to keep the onscreen keyboard down from appearing?

One option is to download null keyboard and set that as your default soft keyboard layout. There are different versions out, but below is one of them.

http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/pos...nueNullKB.aspx

I believe No2Chem also has something on his site (above) that will make the nullkb active only when the harware keyboard is out. Used it on my touch pro, but haven't tried it on the TP2.

Yes, this worked very nicely for me, but I had to create the DWORD "TurnOffAutoDeply" as it didn't exist in my original registry.

Re: Is it possible to keep the onscreen keyboard down from appearing?

if you install Advanced Config (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418151), there is a setting under the Input sub-menu that you can disable, or enable, this feature called "Auto Deploy SIP"

Same here. I'm on a Sprint Touch Pro2, by the way. It's good to get some screen real estate back

i just used advanced config and disabled the "Auto Deploy SIP". i then went into the reg and noticed that it added that dword and set the value to 1. so essentially that worked for me (vzw). this was annoying to me, thanks for the fix guys

Is this change also for Winmo 6.1? I don't see this setting after I get into Sip.
