Kitchen/Cooked ROM/Hard SPL?

So I am new to WimMo and much of this tech talk. Is there a place you can point me to that can provide me with a little basic information on what the following items are? I see a lot of threads with these referenced, and not sure exactly what they are.

1. Kitchen
2. Cooked ROM
3. Hard SPL

I not new to WinMo, but new to ROMs. But basically a kitchen is something used to cook(make) customer ROMs. Cooked ROMs are basically just customer ROMs that users have made. Hard SPL is something that unlocks the phone so the custome ROM can be installed

custom roms are better running and usually more featured. the hard spl for the touch pro 2 has not been released (yet a day or so) it is needed to Flash a custom rom info can be seen in this thread.
