Keyboard and backlight issues

I've noticed that periodically my keyboard backlight quits working. It will start out working fine, then slowly start flickering on and off as I press keys, then eventually quit working until I close and re-open the phone.

Is this behavior expected or do I have an issue? It does not fade out, but turns on and off as I press buttons.

Wondering if I should return the device before my 30 days is up. I have until the 14th.

dave

Re: Keyboard and backlight issues

i think this is a light sensor issue, mine only does this during the day, and its hard to notice, well, since it is light out. at night time though i have no flickering issues. it may have something to do with your hand casting a shadow over the light sensor, maybe...just a guess

Re: Keyboard and backlight issues

OK I was wondering about that. I believe the light sensor is on the opposite side of the speaker on the front from the LED, right?

I tried putting my thumb over this area to see if the keyboard backlight would turn on but it did not help.

I'll have to pay more attention to it at night to see if this is an issue. I do believe that I see this when it's not really light nor dark, so maybe it is a light sensor issue.

Should the backlight turn on if I put my thumb over the light sensor?

thanks,
dave

Re: Keyboard and backlight issues

that sounds like your keyboard backlights auto sensor is on....... go to settings/personel/buttons/backlight and turn that auto shoot off....
