Will doing a rom upgrade speed things up?

This is my first windows mobile device so i am sorry in advanced if this question seems silly.

First, i love my HTC TP2, but there are a couple of slowdown issues that have been bothering me. When switching out of the phone dialer, it tends to lag my phone quite a bit. When leaving certain apps to go to others, it does tend to lag. Not all the time but it is noticeable.

This leads to my question. Will updating the rom on my phone to a custom rom speed it up, and if so will it make a BIG difference?
Thanks in advance!

For the most part running a custom rom will speed things up but as far as being a big difference that would really depend on your expectations. The cool thing about custom roms is that you will probably have so many roms to choose from and most of them will probably run better than stock.

A ROM update *could* speed things up. But honestly, a custom ROM would do way more than a STOCK rom ever would.

Currently, if you search for "disable push internet", that will free up abuot 10 megs a RAM and another cab, SSK TP2 Dynamic Resource Proxy, that frees about 15 or so megs of RAM. Those 2 have sped my TP2 up a bunch.
