Command prompt available?

So I installed the MS command prompt powertoy on my TP2 and whenI open it up it won't accept any typing except 'return'. no characters show up on screen and no commands I type actually run. Any ideas?

On my i760 running WM 6.1 the stuff wouldn't show up on the screen till after I hit enter, but at least stuff ran. This time it just won't go.

Also, is there any way to get the 'run' menu up on the TP2? Every way I've found requires a 'd pad' to execute. (hold center of pad and hit the clock and it'll come up with the run prompt).
