Unhappy Loss of Data / Battery Drain

I left the wifi router on overnight, and in that time it powered off for some reason (overheated or drained battery). Well, when I turned it on in the morning data could not connect 1x or evdo. The battery also drained 3x faster

I backed up my settings and did a hard reset- data was back. I restored and poof data's gone again.

I hard reset again and data is back, and I'm afraid to do any more without finding out what's going on. Does anyone have any idea what could do this?

It's hard to say exactly what happened, but since wifi was left on and the battery died, tied with the fact that when wifi is on, data is basically blocked, it's quite likely that something became corupt and with each restore you are reinstalling that anomaly. Unfortunately it may be that your quickest and easiest fix is to hard reset and start over without the restore.
