Re: "Where did I park?" type application?
if you GPS works decent, you can use google maps or any other GPS to mark the cordinates.
EDIT: even better, use google maps, use the satellite view and click and hold on the actual spot and set as a favorite. Last edited by bobturismo; 09-27-2009 at 05:32 PM. |

Re: "Where did I park?" type application?
The GPS does work pretty well, but the Bing application that I'm using currently doesn't seem to have an option to mark the current location (and then give directions/map back to the car) - I see how to get the lat/lon for current location, but I don't want to have to write it down each time to get directions back
If there's an easier way to do this, please do suggest. Thanks! |

Re: "Where did I park?" type application?
Here's one app. like that. I make no promises to it working on all devices. Also , knowing your direction is helpful with this app., such as where's N,S,E,W.
ยป GParkS Description Made by: smrtdrmmr The other day I was at a football game where I had to park on a golf course far from the stadium and ended up wandering around for 20 minutes trying to locate the car afterward. I knew that the iPhone had an app called "Dude, Where's My Car?" which let someone use GPS to tag a specific location and then later use Google Maps to guide them back to the GPS mark, but when I did some searching I couldn't find a WinMo version. So I made one. This version isn't as sexy as the iPhone app, but it's free, and you can store up to 3 different locations and even name them if you'd like. When you want to locate one, you just click the respective Find button and you will be provided a compass direction (N, NW, S, SW, E, SE, W, NE) and approximate distance to your destination which will change as you continue to move. I did some testing and got rid of whatever bugs I could find and everything seems to work. Since I find it useful to have, I wanted to pass it on to the community in case they might be interested as well. Download GParkS free for Your Windows Mobile Phone

Yup, gps coordinates work best. But the only issue is sometimes when you turn on GPS and shut down the APP, gpsone chip stays on and drains your battery. Other than that.. its nice to have.

Re: "Where did I park?" type application?
This is what I have been doing as well using google maps, and this is whats so annoying about the iphone. Someone will create an app then have some stupid name for it and next thing you know its getting praised as the next greatest thing since slice bread yet still the feature has been available for years. The iphone really is a pda for dummies.
